The book Yes Man is based on is nonfiction. The writer found that he was being an overly negative person and not going out as often as he used to. He's known in England for turning weird situations into books; a prior book is about him inadvertently starting a cult. Anyway, one day he just decides to start saying yes to everything and it leads to fun situations, but nothing like the Jim Carrey movie.
